My stay was fantastic during 3 nights. The room was tidy and extremely spacious, could see lake from the window. The bathroom was fairly clean and it had shower facilities, a bidet, and bath sheets for my convenience.

I had an amazing experience at Gems Garden Guest House. Everything was simply great! It's a fantastic family-friendly hotel with brilliant food and pleasant staff. I dined at an exclusive restaurant that offered excellent home-made dishes. the beds were exceptionally comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. Plus, the location is awesome—just a stone's throw from the beach!

This guest house is ideally located, making it a great place to stay. It is nestled in a green area, just between two beautiful beaches. the rooms are basic but comfortable, with spacious interiors and comfortable beds. the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, providing a warm atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a delicious Sri Lankan Curry and Rice at the restaurant, located just next to the hotel. the direct access to the fabulous beach allows guests to relax and unwind.

The organization of the hotel could be improved, especially when it comes to arranging tours and transportation.

I had a wonderful stay at this guest house. The cabana I stayed in was authentic and had a great atmosphere. The wooden structure kept it cool, so I didn't need an air conditioner. The location was perfect, with the sea just in front of the property and a natural 'pool' a short distance away. It was great for small children to swim in. The cabana itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the mosquito net was a nice touch. The hotel facilities were well-maintained, and the lush tropical garden added to the beauty of the surroundings.

Great stay right on the beach by the Indian Ocean. Host was super chilled and friendly with excellent English. Enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner with another couple we met at the guest house.

The rooms at Gems Garden Guest House are simply furnished, making them comfortable and cozy for a guest like me with physical handicaps. The private bathroom with a bidet pipe and hot shower facility in the room was a great convenience. I loved the balcony with beautiful views, where I could relax and enjoy the surroundings. The seating area provided in some rooms allowed me to unwind after a long day of exploring. The presence of a dressing table in the fan-cooled rooms was an added bonus.

Personally, I found the clothes rack in the room to be a bit small for my needs.

The room was incredibly clean, spacious, and comfortable - I felt like I was in a luxury hotel. The green garden setting alongside the lagoon and just a few steps from the beach was truly breathtaking. The location was perfect, with easy access to both the busier Tangalle and quieter stretches towards Lonely beach. The family running this small business was lovely and their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. The cabanas were simply wonderful, with spacious interiors, comfortable beds, and even a mosquito net. I loved the wardrobe and the cozy chairs on the private veranda. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it all! Definitely a gem of a place, don't miss it!

The terrace restaurant served delicious seafood, and the family running the place were so friendly and accommodating. The bungalow I stayed in was comfortable and located in a peaceful area. Despite a few minor drawbacks, overall I highly recommend this gem of a guesthouse!

They even organized tuk-tuks and excursions for me. The cuisine was amazing, and all the dishes were delicious. I especially enjoyed the complimentary welcome drink and the cocktails made with fresh bananas. The private beach had hammocks where I could relax in the shade and enjoy the beautiful sunrise. it was the best place I found in this price range.
